📍Monroe, Washington, USA
2002 – 2020“Benson Boone was born in June 2002 and grew up in Monroe, Washington, a small, outdoorsy town at the foot of the Cascade Mountains north-east of Seattle, where the Skykomish and Snoqualmie rivers meet. He grew up with his sisters in a close family who belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and family life was busy, loud and full of activity. At Monroe High School he was an athlete rather than a singer: he was on the competitive diving team and the tennis team, and the flips and backflips he now does on stage come from those years of diving. He had never really sung in public until his junior year, when a friend asked him to play piano and sing in the school's battle of the bands. His performance stunned friends and family, and he began posting videos of himself singing on TikTok. He graduated in 2020, during the pandemic. In early 2021 he auditioned for American Idol and was sent through, but he chose to withdraw, feeling it was not the right path for him. His TikTok videos caught the attention of Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons, who signed him to his label, and his debut single, Ghost Town, came out later that year. In 2024 Beautiful Things became a worldwide hit, and his debut album was named Fireworks & Rollerblades. His local newspaper in Snohomish County has followed his rise from the Monroe High diving board to arenas around the world.”
