Jesus of Nazareth

Ancient worldReligious figures

📍Nazareth, Galilee, Israel

“I grew up in Nazareth, in the workshop and home of my father Joseph. The smell of fresh timber and sawdust was the smell of my childhood — a craftsman's home, modest and honest, with limestone walls and a courtyard where the evening light would gather before dark. I helped carry water from the well, played in the dusty streets with neighbouring children, and spent long hours in the synagogue listening to the teachers with a hunger I could not always explain. It was an ordinary village life in extraordinary times, and I would not trade it.”

👍 LovedThe Galilean sunrise over the hills, shared meals around a full table, the company of fishermen and farmers, the laughter of children, and the particular stillness that settles over a hillside just before dawn.
👎 DislikedHypocrisy in high places, the exploitation of those who have little, and the way in which rules so often became more important than the people they were meant to serve.
