📍Tyler, Texas, USA
1995 – 2014“Patrick Mahomes was born in Tyler, Texas, in September 1995, the son of Pat Mahomes, a Major League Baseball pitcher, and Randi Martin. Tyler, known as the Rose Capital of America, is a pine-forested city in East Texas, and as a boy Patrick grew up there and in the nearby small town of Whitehouse. His parents divorced when he was young, and he and his younger brother, Jackson, grew up between their homes, with plenty of family support. Because of his father's career, Patrick spent his early childhood in Major League clubhouses, shagging fly balls in the outfield and learning from players like Alex Rodriguez and LaTroy Hawkins. He played Little League baseball from six and youth football from about eight, and he was a natural all-round athlete with an unusual arm. At Whitehouse High School he starred in football, baseball and basketball; at one point he considered quitting football to focus on baseball and basketball, but he was persuaded to keep playing. In his senior year he threw for around 4,600 yards and 50 touchdowns. He turned down professional baseball interest to play football at Texas Tech University, and in 2017 the Kansas City Chiefs drafted him. With his creative, improvised style he became one of the greatest quarterbacks of his era, winning three Super Bowls. He has often spoken about how growing up around professional baseball taught him how to handle pressure and fame.”
