📍Quakertown, Pennsylvania, USA
1999 – 2013“Sabrina Carpenter was born in May 1999 in Quakertown, a small town in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, in the rolling farmland north of Philadelphia, and she was the youngest of four sisters. Her parents, Elizabeth and David, encouraged all their daughters' creativity, and the house was full of noise, singing and dressing up. She was homeschooled, which gave her time to practise, and from a very young age she sang everywhere: in the car, at home and at local events. Her aunt is Nancy Cartwright, the voice of Bart Simpson. At around ten she began posting videos of herself singing covers on YouTube, and she entered an online competition run by Miley Cyrus to find a young singer, finishing third. Her father, a big supporter, helped her record and film songs at home, and the family made trips to New York and Los Angeles for auditions. She also took dance and acting lessons, and the small-town rhythms of Quakertown, with its high street, its parades, its summers and its close-knit families, gave her a grounded childhood alongside her ambitions. At eleven she made her television debut with a small part in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and in 2013 she was cast in the Disney Channel series Girl Meets World, which took her to Los Angeles. She released her first album in 2015 and later became one of the biggest pop stars of her generation with songs like Espresso. She has often thanked her parents and sisters for backing her from the very start.”
