📍Cleveland Heights, Ohio, USA
1989 – 2008“Travis Kelce was born in October 1989 in the Cleveland area of Ohio and grew up in Cleveland Heights, an old, leafy inner suburb east of Cleveland, with grand early twentieth-century houses, parks and a diverse population. His father, Ed, was a sales representative in the steel industry, and his mother, Donna, worked in banking, and she drove her two boys to endless practices and games. He and his older brother, Jason, were inseparable and fiercely competitive. The brothers played every sport going: hockey, baseball, basketball and football, and their battles in the backyard and the driveway became family legend. Their parents encouraged them to play everything and to have fun, and both brothers credited that variety with making them better athletes. At Cleveland Heights High School, Travis played football, basketball and baseball, and as the team's quarterback he earned all-league honours. He was a big, joking, outgoing kid, the life of the locker room, though not always the most focused student. He followed Jason to the University of Cincinnati, where he moved from quarterback to tight end, and in 2013 the Kansas City Chiefs drafted him. He became one of the greatest tight ends in NFL history, winning three Super Bowls, while Jason became a star centre with the Philadelphia Eagles. The brothers' podcast, New Heights, is named after Cleveland Heights, and they remain fiercely proud of their hometown and the parents who drove them to all those games.”
