📍85-15 Wareham Place, Jamaica Estates, Queens, NY 11432, USA
1946 – 1950“Donald Trump spent his first four years in this two-storey Tudor-style house of brick and stucco on Wareham Place in Jamaica Estates, a leafy, affluent enclave of winding streets in Queens. His father, Fred Trump, a builder of homes and apartment blocks across Queens and Brooklyn, built the house in 1940; around 1950 the family moved to a larger house he built nearby. As a boy Donald went with his father to visit building sites and rent offices, absorbing the business he would later take over. He described Jamaica Estates in a 2015 interview as safe and family-oriented, an oasis in a rougher borough. At thirteen he was sent upstate to the New York Military Academy. He went on to work in his father's company before moving to Manhattan, where Trump Tower became his home and headquarters. The childhood house has been rented out and sold several times in recent years, drawing interest from around the world.”
