1977 – 1995

“Thomas Edward Patrick Brady Jr. was born in San Mateo, California, in August 1977, the youngest child and only son of Tom Brady Sr and Galynn Johnson, and grew up in a sports-mad household with three older sisters, all of whom were talented softball players. As a boy he watched the San Francisco 49ers and Joe Montana from the stands at Candlestick Park. At Junípero Serra High School in San Mateo he played football, basketball and baseball, and he was a strong enough catcher to be drafted by the Montreal Expos in 1995. He chose instead to play quarterback at the University of Michigan, where he had to fight for playing time. In 2000 the New England Patriots drafted him in the sixth round, with the 199th pick, and he went on to win seven Super Bowls.”

👍 LovedA sports-mad family, the 49ers, and hard work
👎 DislikedBeing overlooked as a young quarterback
