1995 – 2001“Chris Hemsworth was born in Melbourne in 1983, the middle of three brothers between Luke and Liam. His father, Craig, was a social services counsellor and his mother, Leonie, an English teacher. When Chris was a boy, his parents took jobs in Bulman, a small Aboriginal community in the remote Northern Territory, and the brothers spent formative years there among buffalo, crocodiles and the wide outback, learning from the local community. He has said those were some of his most vivid memories. After time back in Melbourne, where he attended Heathmont College, the family moved in the mid-1990s to Phillip Island, south-east of Melbourne, known for its surf beaches and penguins. The Hemsworth boys lived close to the water and spent every possible hour surfing at the island's breaks, competing fiercely with one another in the waves and in everything else. It was a modest, outdoors childhood, and their parents taught them to be grounded and to look after each other. After school, Chris followed Luke into acting, landing a role on the Australian soap Home and Away. He moved to Los Angeles, where he was cast as Thor in the Marvel films, and became one of the world's biggest stars. He and his brothers still surf whenever they can, and he later settled with his family at Byron Bay, choosing a life by the beach much like the one he loved on Phillip Island. He has often credited his parents' values and his brothers' rivalry for keeping him humble.”
