📍Jönköping, Sweden
1950 – 1968“Agnetha Fältskog grew up in Jönköping, a lakeside town at the southern tip of Lake Vättern in Småland, the elder of two daughters. Her father, Ingvar, managed a department store and threw himself into organising local amateur revues and shows, so Agnetha was on a stage almost as soon as she could walk. She was playing piano by five and wrote her first song, Two Little Trolls, at six. As a teenager she sang with a local dance band, Bernt Enghardt's, touring the dance halls of southern Sweden at weekends while working as a telephonist by day. At seventeen she sent a demo of a song she had written herself, Jag var så kär, to a record company, and it went to number one in Sweden. A few years later she met Björn Ulvaeus, and with Benny and Anni-Frid they became ABBA. For all the fame that followed, she has always guarded her privacy and her roots, and Jönköping still celebrates the shy girl from its revue stages.”
