1975 – 1994“Eldrick Tont Woods was born in Cypress, California, in December 1975, the only child of Earl Woods, a former US Army officer and Green Beret who had served in Vietnam, and Kultida Woods, from Thailand. They lived in a modest house on Teakwood Street in Cypress, a suburb in Orange County. Earl, a keen golfer, put a club in his son's hands as a toddler, and Tiger copied his swing in the garage. At two he appeared on The Mike Douglas Show putting with Bob Hope, and at three he shot 48 for nine holes at the Navy Golf Course in nearby Los Alamitos, where he learned the game. He won junior world championships as a boy and three consecutive US Junior Amateur titles. After two years at Stanford, he turned professional in 1996, and in 1997 became the youngest winner of the Masters.”
