1968 – 1986“Hugh Jackman grew up in Wahroonga, on Sydney's Upper North Shore — a settled, green suburb of wide gardens where his English-born parents had migrated in 1967. When Hugh was eight his parents separated and his mother returned to England with his sisters, leaving him and his brothers to be raised by their father, an accountant Jackman would describe as extraordinarily selfless. That early loss, and the steadiness of the home his father held together, gave him both a deep work ethic and a first-hand understanding of resilience and devotion that would later pour into his performances. He attended nearby Pymble Public School and Knox Grammar.”
